The Arc of Orange County is a not-for-profit agency founded in 1954 by a small group of parents and family members of people with developmental disabilities. From this small and dedicated group of advocates, we have become a leader in the field of providing services to those in need. Families remain our inspiration and guiding force, and comprise a majority of the agency’s Board of Directors and voting members.
Today, The Arc of Orange County serves more than 2,000 people with developmental disabilities in 29 program locations throughout the county, including schools, residences and day service facilities We also provide services in private family homes. The people we serve range in age from infancy to senior citizens. We have grown to be one of the county’s major employers with over 750 employees currently on our team. Our transportation department travels over 1,500,000 miles annually transporting individuals to the service programs that suit their specific needs.
