Strong roots—conceived more than 60 years ago by a small group of dedicated parents, today ARC provides supports and services to more than 1200 people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities from infancy through the senior years. A professional staff of 650 helps each experience life’s opportunities and challenges. We focus on individuals and their families. ARC is a key resource for information and referral regarding supports and services throughout the county, state and country. An active volunteer board of directors and a volunteer foundation board are integral aspects of ARC.
ARC provides supports and services to people of all ages. We offer Early Intervention; a pre-school; a unique program utilizing applied behavior analysis for pre school and school age children on the autism spectrum; year 'round teen programs; a lakeside summer camp for tweens and teens including crafts, sports, trips, swimming and boating; a post high school campus linking to area academic advancement, residential opportunities; recreation and social skill building for children, teens, young adults and adults; voluteer opportunities, employment training and job placement; a senior center, and family support services and a primary care medical clinic.
ARC of Rockland emphasizes involvment in the broader community through volunteerism, employment, recreation, education and housing.
