The Arc of Delaware County (Delaware County Chapter, NYSARC, Inc.)

The Arc of Delaware County exists so that people with disabilities will live personally fulfilling lives. The Arc of Delaware County is one of the country’s most progressive and unique organizations serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. For more than three decades, Delarc has been committed to a proactive philosophy and positive approach, with a Board of Director’s policy prohibiting the use of aversive behavior techniques including physical restraints. From the way we care for the people we support to the way we treat our colleagues, everything we do is built on an atmosphere of caring without restraint.

In addition to the services we provide at a local level, Delarc is having a revolutionary impact on the field of human services, providing consultation and training services to organizations across the Country on how to eliminate the use of restraints, power struggles, and reactive responses.
