In celebration of national Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM), NYSARC, Inc. recognizes the approximately 4 million Americans, including 300,000 New Yorkers, who have intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities that challenge their ability to live, work learn, and recreate without assistance.
New York State has an exemplary service delivery system that includes the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), NYSARC and nearly 700 nonprofit providers that seek to continually strengthen the quality of services by ensuring that they are person-centered, effective and efficient.
