
NYSARC TRUST SERVICES HONORED AT ANNUAL BENEFIT RECEPTION
Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. honored NYSARC, Inc. Trust Services at the Evelyn Frank Legal Resources Program 2nd Annual Benefit Reception in New York City on December 9, 2009. Katharine Wilson Conroy, NYSARC, Inc. President, along with Heidi Flatt, Associate Executive Director for Trust Services, John Sherman, Associate Executive Director for Fiscal Management, Robert Mascali, Associate General Counsel and Joni Richter, Assistant Executive Director were present to accept the award for NYSARC, Inc. As one of three distinguished honorees, Selfhelp recognized NYSARC, Inc. for expanding its pooled trust to include people with disabilities of all ages, including senior citizens. This enables thousands of middle and low income seniors to quality for Medicaid and access vital services in the community.
The Evelyn Frank Legal Resources Program (EFLRP) serves as a legal resource for older persons and people with disabilities, and for the advocates who assist them. EFLRP assists them to navigate the complex systems that provide access to health care and long-term care. EFLRP focuses on the needs of low-income individuals and access to Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Part D, EPIC, and Medicare Savings Programs.
Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. was founded in 1936 and each year serves nearly 20,000 men and woman, helping them to live with dignity and avoid institutionalization. Over the last several decades it has become one of the largest and most respected not-for-profit social service agencies in the New York metropolitan area.
